For more than 80 years the LEGO® Group has focused on building play and the positive life-long benefits it has for children. Children who engage in building develop important skills and experience a sense of pride and accomplishment in completing a model.

Girls on the Run® is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

With a shared goal of inspiring girls to recognize and activate their limitless potential, LEGO Friends and Girls on the Run launched a national partnership in January 2014. A key component of the partnership is a LEGO-based activity designed to spark creativity and meaningful conversations.  Adapted from the LEGO Serious Play® methodology, the activity reinforces the learning goals of Girls on the Run and guides teams through a simple process where coaches pose questions, the girls build in response, and everyone shares a story about what they built and reflects on the stories together. Girls on the Run is excited to offer this activity to its councils nationwide to help girls discover and celebrate what makes them unique.

"Our LEGO partnership is born from our common goal of unleashing confidence through accomplishment." - Elizabeth Kunz, president of Girls on the Run International
