Every day, girls receive countless messages telling them how they should act and who they should be. They range from loud and clear (“Women shouldn’t run for office.”) to subtle insinuations (“You’re really good at math, for a girl.”) but no matter their clarity or intention, these words and actions impact how girls think about themselves. Things have gotten better – many women have found their place on sports fields and in boardrooms - but we’ve still got a ways to go.

At Girls on the Run, we believe every girl is inherently full of power and potential. Along with teaching girls life skills, our programs empower girls to celebrate what makes them one of a kind, to stand up for themselves and others, and to recognize their ability to make an impact on their communities and the world.

We know girls are capable of remarkable things - they’ve been creating, experimenting, problem solving and inspiring others since day one - but they haven’t always had the support and resources they deserve. It’s time for a change, and you can be a part of it.

This March, in honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, join us in supporting the limitless potential of all girls by sharing the messages they deserve to hear using #LetsTellHer on social media. Share a GIF, take a selfie with a printable poster, share a personal story of perseverance, sign and share the pledge – any way that you share shows girls and women you support their ambitions.

For each public #LetsTellHer post shared on social media, our generous campaign partner Say it Forward will donate $1 to Girls on the Run, providing up to $12,000 to support our programs.

Girls have the power to change the world.

#LetsTellHer she has limitless potential.
