Projects We Love from the GOTR Giving Platform: September Edition

By Suzanna McCloskey on 09/08/2015 | Featured Columns & Series

You can make an impact and raise money for Girls on the Run using the GOTR Giving Platform! Engage your network of friends and family to give to Girls on the Run by creating your own fundraising project or give to support an existing project.

Here are just a few of our favorite projects on the GOTR Giving Platform right now – one in each of the four categories available.

Setting up a project on the GOTR Giving Platform is easy! Click here to find out more and start empowering girls today!

SoleMates – Fundraise as you train for an athletic event.

Jennifer Berry, board member for Girls on the Run Nashville, is a marathoner in the making! As a Girls on the Run SoleMate, Jennifer created a project on the GOTR Giving Platform to fundraise while training for the 7 Bridges Marathon in October and is already well on her way to meeting her $1,000 fundraising goal to raise scholarships allowing more local girls to participate in the program. “I've had the privilege to serve on the board for Girls on the Run Nashville and truly believe in the organization and its mission,” she says. Wishing you a great race and successful fundraising campaign, Jennifer!

Celebrations – Request donations as gifts for your birthday, wedding or any other occasion.

Nora, a supporter of Girls on the Run Central Illinois, has created a Celebrations project on the GOTR Giving Platform proving that “fifty is the new fabulous.” Nora has a goal of raising $50 a week until her 50th birthday and is also pledging to run ten miles each week until her birthday to “give back to this program that focuses on inspiring young girls to stand tall and confident and be healthy and fit.” Keep up the amazing work, Nora!

Limitless Potential – Fundraise as you accomplish your own creative, fun or adventurous goal.

Coach Colleen set up a Limitless Potential project on the GOTR Giving Platform with the goal of raising $8,000 for Girls on the Run Northern Arizona and has already raised close to $1,500 to help more Northern Arizona girls participate in Girls on the Run! “I am excited about the amazing curriculum, the potential to impact young girls and the opportunity to volunteer with a really amazing group of women in my community,” she says. We appreciate your dedication to Girls on the Run, Colleen!

Girl Power – Raise funds for Girls on the Run without a special event. Simply set up your page and ask friends and family to help empower GOTR girls.

Heart & Sole is Girls on the Run’s new program for middle school girls that creates a positive, structured space for middle school girls to learn about themselves, explore new ideas, cultivate empathy, strengthen connections and develop life skills that will help them as they move through adolescence and beyond. A middle school in South Carolina offering Heart & Sole through Girls on the Run Columbia has set up a Girl Power project on the GOTR Giving Platform with the goal of raising $100 to help empower their girls!

We hope these projects serve as inspiration as you set up your own project on the GOTR Giving Platform!
