By Asha Ellison on 12/18/2018 | 2019 National Coach Ambassadors

Meet Ciara Lucas! She is a vibrant television news reporter who is passionate about empowering girls, women and serving in the community.

Name: Ciara Lucas

Nickname: Cici

Occupation: TV News Reporter

Location: Savannah, GA

Age: 23

Who inspires you?

In an effort to avoid being cliché (I would hands down say my mom…Hi mom, I love you!!), I am also insanely inspired by Michelle Obama. All politics aside, as a person, I see her as representing grace, passion, achievement and maturity. She has had (and continues to have) a huge impact on black women across the world, proving that success will happen if you work hard enough for it.

Where’s your favorite place in the world?

There’s something I find so magical about New York City. Every time I visit, I feel a huge wave of energy and happiness!

If you could be any animal, which would you be?

According to Buzzfeed (yes, I decided to take quiz!), I am a panda!

“You are playful and energetic. You’re cute and always the life of any party you go to. People like your attitude and always want to be around you.”

What’s the last book you read?

The last book I read was "The Healing Self" by Deepak Chopra.

What are you most passionate about?

My passions include: health/wellness, fitness, putting a smile on at least one person’s face every day, and being an example of joy and positivity!

What’s your favorite movie?

Pay It Forward

What’s your favorite way to give back to the community?

I’m very passionate about mentorship, especially with young girls/women of color. Serving communities in Savannah both in my career and free time has been extremely fulfilling, and I like to volunteer in any community I am a part of.

What show(s) are you currently watching?

Big fan of Law & Order SVU, Grey’s Anatomy, Insecure, and Being Mary Jane

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

I recently made a return to group fitness instructing at a new health club in Savannah. I’m so excited to be helping others reach fitness and health goals!

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?

Who hasn’t wondered what it would be like to be Oprah?! Haha!

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?

A lobster tail with butter, baked potato and broccoli!

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?

What’s your hidden talent?

I used to be a serious singer! I’ve been in two bands, sang competitively in high school…even traveled to Italy twice with a select choir (Hey, Silvertones!). Now most of my singing is done in the shower, car, or at church!

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Hmm…I think lavender

What is your favorite family tradition?

My parents are my best friends, and I love that we call ourselves “Team Lucas”! As far as traditions go…we couldn’t think of many! Honestly we’re the type to mix things up and keep life interesting!

What is your quote to live by?

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” –Maya Angelou
