The Impact
Evidence shows our program unlocks the power and potential participants need to lead an emotionally and physically healthy life.
Age-old gender stereotypes and ongoing societal obstacles require a commitment to strengthening a sense of confidence in young girls while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Stressors and trauma related to COVID-19 are undoubtedly negatively affecting girls. Now more than ever, girls need to be accepted, inspired and motivated.
Evidence shows our program unlocks the power and potential participants need to lead an emotionally and physically healthy life.
So much more than running, our lessons are researched-based and delivered by trained and caring volunteers.
Girls on the Run is an after-school program designed to inspire girls of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength. Lessons emphasize the important connection between physical and emotional health. Through safety modifications and virtual programming, dedicated and trained staff are ready to adapt to local community needs. At the end of the program, girls complete a 5K, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment, setting a confident and goal-oriented mindset into motion.
The Heart & Sole program meets the specific needs of our middle-school girls. It inspires girls to embrace what makes them unique and provides opportunities to practice skills that foster healthy relationships. Creatively using physical activity, girls learn valuable life skills they can use at school, with friends, and at home. Whether girls meet safely in-person or connect virtually this season, Heart & Sole will inspire and empower the next generation of women.
During Camp GOTR, 3rd – 5th grade girls experience the enrichment and empowerment of our traditional girls’ program with all the fun of camp. Girls benefit from an inclusive, interactive and fun experience that nurtures personal growth. The confidence gained, creativity unleashed, and new connections made will last well beyond their week with us.
