Girls on the Run International is proud to partner with Athleta, LEGO, Secret, Cigna, Famous Footwear, Gamma Phi Beta and SmartWool as we work to deliver our life-changing program to more than 120,000 girls each year. These companies are vital to advancing our mission and provide financial, in-kind and volunteer support while leveraging their brand's assets to raise awareness about the program across North America.
Athleta is the exclusive national athletic women's apparel sponsor of Girls on the Run. Our organizations’ values are well aligned as we are each committed to inspiring girls and women everywhere to achieve their limitless potential. These shared ideals initially brought many members of the Athleta team to Girls on the Run of Sonoma County, California as volunteer coaches, running buddies and board members. It is through their heartfelt commitment to the program that the company sought to partner with Girls on the Run at the national level.
Athleta has been the premier fitness apparel brand exclusively for women since 1998. With female athletes as its designers, Athleta creates versatile and fashionable performance and lifestyle apparel for the fitness-minded woman who lives life on the go. Offering products that move with her throughout the day, Athleta strives to help her look as amazing as she feels. Athleta offers apparel and gear for a range of activities from yoga and spin to strength training and run as well as seasonal sports, including ski and tennis. Athleta apparel is sold in retail stores across the country and online at www.athleta.com.
With a shared goal of unleashing confidence through accomplishment, The LEGO Group is a proud National Sponsor of Girls on the Run. For more than 80 years The LEGO Group has focused only on building play and the positive life-long benefits it has for children. Children who engage in building develop important life-long skills such as persistence, confidence, problem solving and social skills and experience a sense of pride and accomplishment in completing a model.
The partnership is designed to inspire girls everywhere to achieve their limitless potential by using a LEGO-based activity that will spark meaningful conversations. The LEGO Group will provide girls nationwide with a building activity based on LEGO Serious Play® methodology and insights that shows that hands-on, minds-on play produces a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the world and its possibilities. The activity will guide teams through a simple process where coaches will pose a question, the girls will build in response, everyone will share a story about what they built and then reflect together on similarities and differences through a question and answer period. LEGO bricks allow girls an opportunity to show not just what they made, but also what they’re made of.
LEGO Systems, Inc. is the North American division of The LEGO Group, a privately-held, family-owned company based in Billund, Denmark, one of the world's leading manufacturers of creatively educational play materials for children. The company is committed to the development of children's creative and imaginative abilities, and its employees are guided by the motto adopted in the 1930s by founder Ole Kirk Christiansen: "Only the best is good enough."
